1015 Western Champion passes through Leicester with stone empties returning from Wellingborough to Mountsorrell

1015 Western Champion passes through Leicester with stone empties returning from Wellingborough to Mountsorrell

The Western had been hired by GBRF to cover various freight turns owing to a motive power shortage with the duration of which is currently unclear, but expected to mostly feature on these East Midland turns.

1015 is already starting to look like a working loco than a pampered preserved machine with dirt in various places starting to show, though class 52's proved to be quite capable machines on freight in service days.

Leicester can be a pain in the backside with the central "billboards" getting in the way, but finding a shot on the MML at midday that isn't into the sun is tricky enough.
